Potential production 2027
Kanmantoo — Tailings Processing Agreement with Kantra
Kanmantoo is HVY’s near-term production Hard-Rock Industrial Garnet Project. A processing agreement with Kantra Copper (ASX: KAN), formerly Hillgrove Resources, provides HVY access to the active Kanmantoo copper-mine tailings stream and existing tailings storage facility in South Australia.
Production target
- Initial target: 50 ktpa Garnet potential first production in 2027.
- Modular scalability to 100 ktpa, subject to funding tier.
- Operating under Kantra’s existing PEPR / water / heritage / ML envelope via the Tailings Processing Agreement.
Infrastructure and logistics
The Kanmantoo site sits approximately 55 km east of Adelaide on the South Eastern Freeway, with the Adelaide–Melbourne main rail corridor, grid power and Port Adelaide bulk-export access all established for Kantra’s copper operation. Garnet product will move by sealed road to Port Adelaide for export, leveraging existing industrial logistics rather than greenfield infrastructure.
